First, stop using labels. A lot of people label themselves as an excuse to blame their lack of success or progress. They might say, “I’m ADHD,” or “I’m an A, B, C, or D.” You can be all of those things and still be successful. There are many stories of famous people around the world who have labels yet are very successful in their fields. Remove those labels as a reason for not moving forward.
Secondly, focus on what you can do rather than what you can’t do. If you have something that restricts you in some way—whether it be a physical or mental issue—where we get stuck is when we say, “I can’t do that because of this.” Instead, ask yourself, “What can I do?” Start focusing on what you want or what you can do, and stay in that positive mindset.
Thirdly, keep momentum moving forward. Take the next step, and the next step, and the next step. Don’t think about the big picture; don’t blame the economy, the government, or people around you. As long as you’re taking another step forward, then the momentum will continue.
Here are my tips for you to get out of the blame game:
- Stop using labels as a blame.
- Focus on what you do want.
- Keep that momentum moving forward.
