You all get judgy at times, and you get told, “Don’t worry about what other people are thinking about you; it’s none of their business what your business is,” and blah, blah, blah. You hear it all the time. But the truth is, people will judge you, and they will think something of you.
You do have to think about other people and how they perceive you, even though we shouldn’t take on the negativity.
Firstly, what language are you using when you’re doing videos, blogs, or writing content? Are you writing in very formal language when that doesn’t really sit with you, but you do it formally because you think you should or because you think that’s what needs to happen?
Use the language that’s comfortable for you. When you’re writing, making posts, or doing blogs, make sure that it sounds like you.
Secondly, what images are you producing?
Are they all formal, even though you’re a very casual person? Are you getting dressed up in a suit, but you never wear a suit during the day? What images, like photos, are you sharing with people? Do they really show your true essence? Dress the way and have photos done in a way that shows your true self.
Thirdly, what story are you telling? People will come along with you on your story, on your journey, but sometimes we go out there and just share all the showreels, and we look perfect, like perfection, and they never really see the true journey that you’re on.
So, make sure you are sharing your stories—where did you come from, how did you get here, what were the challenges you had? Make sure you share that so people can really get to know you and know that they’re not alone in their journey, because they may be going through something similar to you.
