Paulette McCormack knows how to build a business from scratch.

As a single mum working at Starbucks to make ends meet, to running a six-figure Human Resources business, she understands the commitment, accountability and drive needed to be successful.

Through her 20’s, Paulette didn’t have a qualification to her name. She enjoyed life to the full, travelling the world and developing the mental toughness that comes with the nomadic existence.

She learned the hard way about the “school of hard knocks”, what it feels like to lose close family members, live through a marriage breakdown and to raise children alone.

Nowadays, while she has manifested a life partner, she is grateful for her early experience as it made her the highly-driven person she is today.

And one thing that has never changed is her determination and focus.

Paulette is the founder and owner of Fresh HR Insights Pty Ltd, and has more than a decade of national and international experience helping businesses with their outsourced HR.

It was while living in the UK for 17 years where her life changed. After a devastating marriage breakdown, Paulette completed her first master’s, often balancing one of her babies on her hip as she studied. She gave up a social life and watching TV in exchange for working part-time and studying – she had a plan and a mission.

Paulette relocated herself and her daughters to the Gold Coast, where in 2012, she started Fresh HR Insights while completing another Masters’ degree. She lived through the sweat, tears and tantrums – not to mention money worries – that come with owning a business.

Her groundwork, persistence and grit paid off. Within four years of Fresh HR, her finances went from $60 in her account at one point to a six-figure turnover, on top of drawing a side income from University lecturing at Griffith University.

She brings all this life experience, as well as her training and educational qualifications, to her coaching business.

As a single parent, Paulette had to trust in herself and her business acumen and now shares that learning and experience with her coaching clients, empowering them to become the best business women they can be.

She helps clients that are stuck in their business, who have the desire and commitment to achieve more, but are not sure how to get there.

The work starts with a discovery session to uncover her client’s immediate business needs, before delving into love languages and DISC profiling – to figure out the most appropriate coaching path.

Clients benefit from Paulette’s “just get it done” approach, as well as her compassion, pragmatism and tough love.

Of course, she also has the credentials to back up her claims, including Master of Human Resource Management; Master of Employee Relations; Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; Diploma in Business; Diploma in Management and Certified User of Thomas International Personal Profile Analysis.

To further cement her qualifications, Paulette is undertaking a Bachelor of Laws and expects to graduate in 2024. She is a woman who keeps learning to increase her knowledge and delivery to her clients.

Paulette doesn’t believe in the quick fix. Nothing worth doing is worth doing quickly.

She works with clients over a minimum 6-month period, one-on-one through fortnightly coaching calls and ongoing support.

If you are a business owner ready to put in the work needed to become a success, Paulette’s approach will ignite the spark you know you have inside you.
